Bread Sauce

Serve with Turkey, Chicken and Guinea fowl

300ml / 10floz milk
150g / 5oz breadcrumbs
1 medium onion, studded with 6 cloves
30g / 1oz butter
salt & pepper
1/4tsp ground allspice
15ml / 1 tbsp thick cream

Bring all the ingredients, except for the cream, to the boil in a saucepan.  
Cover and simmer gently for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Remove the onion and stir in the cream before serving.
