675g / 11/2lb potatoes, peeled
A little milk
Knob of butter
450g / 1lb green cabbage, trimmed and roughly chopped
1 small onion, peeled and chopped small
salt & pepper
1 egg
Cook the potatoes in salted water until soft. Drain and mash
with a little milk and butter.
Plunge the cabbage into boiling, salted water, cook for five minutes, drain
well and finely chop.
Mix the potatoe and cabbage with the onion, add the egg ( lightly whisked
) and season well.
Put the mixture in a frying pan with a little fat ( prefferably bacon ),
or oil and fry until golden on both sides.
