  YORKSHIRE BEETROOT WINE

Barnsley, Yorkshire, England


5lb / 21/4K beetroot
31/2lbs / 13/4K Demerara sugar
11/2gallons / 43/4L water
1/2oz / 15g of yeast
1 slice toast
1/2tsp / 2g Ginger

Wash and slice beetroot, add water and bring to boil and simmer for one hour.
Add sugar and simmer for 20 minutes, allow to cool.
Strain (add ginger) place yeast on slice of toast and put on top of wine.

Stand for 10 days: strain and bottle.
